This is Rogue Planet: Dead Sand

Surreal Action Horror!

Rogue Planet Dead Sand is a solo developed FPS game made by 3ofSpades over the course of 6 years. It takes influences from LucasArts' Star Wars games such as Battlefront, Republic Commando, and The Force Unleashed, as well as cancelled games like 1313, First Assault, and Maul. It also takes inspiration from 2010s late generation Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 graphics and tech of the time.

Rogue Planet is designed to push the GameGuru Engine to its absolute limits with beautiful Graphics, a complex story dealing with dark and mature subjects, multiple endings, a larger than life world, and massive natural disasters, while having satisfying Gameplay systems, being accessible to lower end systems, and taking minimal storage space.

The Story:

Now that you've awoken from a coma after being shot and dismembered, you return to the places you once explored in your dreams to find answers.

Taking a job to repair a radar array leads to the place of origin to everything, as the truth of what happened in Santa Fe 2 years ago is finally beginning to unravel. Your interpretation of the truth will affect the world around you, and more importantly, the people living in it.

Be careful. Imaginations can be powerful things...

Do you think you can bring yourself to find the truth one last time? No choice without a consequence, no consequence without a step taken.  With every step you take, there is a price to pay.

How far will you go to save yourself?
And where will you run to forget what you've done?

And thank you for checking out my game. It's been something I've wanted to do for almost my entire life. And now, it's finally out. Needless to say, it's been a long journey, but it's one I am happy with having taken. I hope you'll be happy as playing it as I was making it.

Other than that, have fun. If you have any questions, or are interested in my other stuff, go to: threeofspades.weebly.com

Install instructions

There are two versions, one is a zip, the other is a 7z. You will need to extract the game files to a location of your choosing, then open rogueplanet1, open ace1, then double click ace1.exe to play.

The game may require some dependencies to run properly, you can find them at the bottom of this notice.

If you want to install the HD cutscenes, then download them, and copy paste the videobank files into the ace1/videobank directory, and replace all files.

If you want to install the HD textures, first ensure you have the originals backed up in case of any issues, then you will have to download the provided files, then copy paste them into the entitybank, then ensure that any files with the same names as the HD textures starting with  "_e_" then followed by texture's names are removed.

(It's not an ideal method, but you have to delete and go through the various original textures then leave the HD ones in the places where the old ones were before. No idea if they'll work or not, but still going to provide them since I am a man of my word.  So use at your own risk. Mileage may vary. The HD textures are AS-IS. And will not be worked on further.)

If you want the wallpapers, then they aren't required to play, but they can make your pc look cool. All you need to do is download the provided zip file, then open and select your wallpaper and set it using whatever way your operating system does it. In the case of windows 10, just right click and set as desktop wallpaper.

George may have snuck a surprise in there for you. No idea what's he's up to these days.

 Have fun!

If you get any DirectX or Visual Studio Errors, try downloading and installing both of these all in one packages, as the cause could be missing runtimes that GameGuru uses as dependencies (rest assured these are perfectly safe parts of Windows that will not cause any issues and that most games and software use):

DirectX All in One Installer (Official Microsoft Download): https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Visual Studio All in One Installer (MajorGeeks Download because Microsoft doesn't have one for Visual Studio apparently): https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/visual_c_redistributable_runtimes_aio_r...
